Thirty metres of grass and memory circle the crest of a Monaghan drumlin, holding a shape older than the hedge that marks its edge. The earth rises two metres at the north west and dips to a shallow scar inside, as if the fort exhaled before disappearing under grass. Two gaps face each other across the ring, neither certain enough to call a door, yet both invite entry. A second rath waits ninety metres south east, suggesting the ridge once carried more than one claim to being seen.

Located on the crest of a small WNW-ESE drumlin ridge. This is a grass-covered circular area (diam. 48.5m NW-SE; 46.8m NE-SW) that slopes down to the NE. It is defined by an earthen bank (at SE: Wth 6m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.8m) E-S and W-NNW (at NW: Wth 5m; int. H 1m; ext. H 2m) and scarps elsewhere. There are slight traces of an external fosse S-SW and there is a hedge on the perimeter. In the interior there is an ancient NNW-SSE scarp (Wth 1m; H 1m) down to the W located 6-7m inside the perimeter at W with no associated spoil. There are entrance gaps at NW (Wth of base 1.5m) and SE (Wth of base 2.6m), either or neither of which might be original. Rath (MO028-111----) is c. 90m to the SE.
