Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cortober is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cortober, County Roscommon, Ireland. Susan Curran identified the circular grass-covered area during an M.A. thesis at University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset. The low scarp defines a twenty-four-metre diameter on the gentle W-facing slope of an E-W drumlin ridge near the Killukin River.

Situated in pasture with some rushes on the gentle W-facing slope of an E-W drumlin ridge. The N-S River Shannon loops eastwards c. 600m-1.2km distant from it N-E-SSE, and the small SW-NE Killukin River is at the base of the drumlin c. 250m to the SE. It was first identified by Susan Curran as part of an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 24m) defined by a low scarp (at W: Wth 3.6m; H 0.55m). It is cut by a closed E-W land drain towards the perimeter at S. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Rath (RO011-181----) is c. 80m to the ENE. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 12 May, 2015
