Fairy fort in Corbally, County Mayo: an oval rath, levelled but still marked by a stone-scattered bank and a shallow outside ditch, set on gently rising pasture with wide views. It is the kind of place people may have lived, herded, hidden, or refused to touch, depending on the century and the mood. What remains is a boundary the land keeps repeating: a line of stones, a dipped edge, a field fence cutting across the middle, and a quiet oval that still reads as made rather than accidental.

In improved pasture, located on a level area on gently rising ground, with good views, most extensive E–SSW. There is a very gradual fall of ground to SE. This rath is not shown on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps. It has been levelled. The remains consist of a slightly raised oval area (23.5m NE–SW; 32.8m NW-SE) defined SW–NNE by a slight rise representing a levelled bank or scarp, and NNE–SSE by remnants of a scarp (Wth c. 1.5m; H 0.55m) incorporating large stones and enhanced by the natural fall of ground. At SSE–SW the enclosing element is entirely levelled. A shallow depression outside the scarp at W may be a fosse. A post and wire field fence on a NE–SW axis crosses the enclosure to SE of centre. A few large stones, set in a row parallel to the field fence, in the SE of the interior, may be the remnants of an earlier field wall replaced by the wire fence.
