Mortons and Kilkenny, Irish and English, shared one ridge where men still pointed at hidden chambers and warned others not to dig. The fort stands in open pasture, its bank and ditch unbroken except where a causeway cuts the south side. That gap may be the oldest door still standing, inviting entry into a place where human life and fairy story both refuse to leave.

On a ridge in undulating pastureland. Subcircular rath (25m N-S; 22.5m E-W), in fair condition, defined by an inner bank, fosse and outer scarp. The inner bank survives from SSE to SW; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The fosse and outer scarp are evident all round. A causewayed gap (Wth 4.8m) at S may be original.
