Fairy fort in Cooga Upper is a 36m earthen ring on a natural hillock in County Limerick, with a scarped edge and a one-metre western gap. It sits in rolling pasture, partly hidden by scrub and mature trees, yet still faces north and west as if watching the sky. People may have shaped the hillock into a boundary, or simply noticed that the land had already made a room. Either way, the gap remains like an invitation.

Situated in poorly drained, rolling pasture with good views to N and W. Located in an area of natural hillocks the monument appears to be an embellished hillock. It is partially obscured by scrub vegetation and overgrown by some mature trees. It is evident as a roughly circular area (36m E-W) defined by a scarped edge (Wth 6.6m; H 0.6m). There is a gap (Wth 1m) in the scarp at W. The enclosing element is truncated by a field boundary from NW to NNE. The interior slopes down evenly from the centre.
