Bilboa Bridge in Cooga Lower meets the river with pointed stone wedges, splitting it neatly around the supports. It's the wet version of an Irish mother dividing two fighting brothers: you go that side, you go that side, and neither of you is taking this bridge down with you.

Three-arch limestone road bridge over the River Bilboa, built c. 1880. Elliptical arches with rusticated limestone voussoirs, dressed limestone spandrel walls with cut limestone stringcourse. Rendered copings to parapet walls. Cut limestone V-cutwaters.

This bridge displays the work of skilled craftsmen in the execution of its stone work especially visible in the finishes to the rock-faced cut voussoirs, stringcourses and cutwaters making it visually appealing. Retaining its original form, it highlights the achievements of nineteenth-century engineering and makes a positive contribution to the surrounding landscape.
