What is recorded here

Fort field still angles toward the rising sun, but the ring has vanished under grass and forgotten feet. A twenty-metre circle once stood there, large enough to exclude rather than impress, close enough to the stream for life and danger to arrive together. The land kept the shape long after the stones or soil lost their edge.

On a NE-facing slope in pastureland; a stream flows by to N. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (D c. 20m). No visible surface trace survives, though the field in which the monument stood is known locally as 'fort field'.
