Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed, often by people who would not own up to living in them when they were new. Clonmult keeps a thirty-five metre circle on an east-facing slope above the Kiltha glen, now reduced to a fence bank and a levelled southern edge. The name is a story, not a fact; the shape is still a fact.

In pasture, on E-facing slope, c. 120m from Kiltha river glen. Shown on 1936 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m). Fragment of bank survives incorporated into field fence (int. H 1m; ext. H 1.3m); levelled to S. Interior slopes gently to E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
