What is recorded here
Fairy forts are not places where fairies flew or played. They are human remains, usually old farmsteads, workshops, storage camps or boundary markers from before written records. The wheel world is a human-made feature. The chamber is a human-made feature. The chamber is a human-made feature. The chamber is a human-made feature. The chamber is a human-made feature. On a very gentle W-facing slope on wet, low-lying ground. A report in 1977 (SMR file) recorded a raised circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by a partially denuded, low bank of earth and stone with an external fosse. From W-N-NE the bank and fosse had been modified and incorporated into a field boundary. The original entrance was not recognisable. The rath is densely overgrown with scrub rendering inspection impossible.
