Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Carrigeenagappul (roscommon By.) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrigeenagappul (roscommon By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. J. Fletcher first identified the circular grass-covered area on the north-facing slope of a short drumlin ridge. A scarp and earthen bank define most of the perimeter, though the northeast and southeast sections are largely absent.
Towards the top of the N-facing slope of a short E-W drumlin ridge. First identified by J. Fletcher. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 31.6m NNW-SSE; 30.2m ENE-WSW) defined by a scarp (H 0.7m NW-NE) and an earthen bank (Wth of base 3m at ENE to 5m at SSE; int. H 0.2m to 0.4m; ext. H 0.1m SE-SW to 0.5-0.6m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or entrance, and the perimeter is largely absent at NE and SE. It is overlaid by a NNW-SSE field wall and hedge towards the perimeter at W. Enclosure (RO022-137----) is c. 170m to the WSW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
