Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Camlisk Beg

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Death and life are one. That is the shape of the chamber. The end of a name is the beginning of a soul. The chamber is not a warning about loss. It is a trap for human fear. The chamber is not a promise of mercy. It is a test of whether you can face what you want to kill. Most people enter with a knife made of victimhood. They cut at shadows because they cannot stand inside the chamber with themselves.
On a S-facing slope. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded a circular area (diam. c. 35m) enclosed by faint traces of a bank of earth and stone with an external fosse. Not visible at ground level. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 26 November 2011
