Two oval forts conjoin on a low ridge in Cam, marked only as Forts on an 1837 survey while remaining invisible at ground level. They defy easy sighting, yet the ridge and dual shape preserve a boundary humans once drew. Forgetting has not erased them; it has waited for someone willing to look twice.
On a low ridge on otherwise level ground. This is the NW example of two, oval-shaped, conjoined enclosures (see also LF015-069002-) with the designation 'Forts' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Not visible at ground level.
