Magic and life are entangled there. The chamber holds a dead body, not a cage. The living woman must touch the chamber and remember the child she lost. The chamber gives back one year of her life and takes the child's memory from every person who loved it. She must choose between remembering the child or continuing to draw breath. The chamber does not punish her. It shows that magic does not separate good from evil. It separates what people understand from what they fear.

In pasture, atop drumlin, N of Durrus River. Circular area (29m N-S; 27.9m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2m); external fosse (D 1.8m). Slippage causes inner berm on bank to W and N. Entrance to E (Wth 5m), blocked by stone wall. Cultivation ridges cross interior E-W. Standing stone (CO118-062002-) in same field to NNE.
