Mortons and others climbed the ridge to face the fort, not knowing whether the fairies would appear or the men would break. The earthen bank still holds its shape, and the eastern gap remains open as if waiting for the next decision.

In pasture on crest of ridge with a view to N and E. Circular raised area (25.6m N-S; 25.4m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (ext. H 1.5m; int. H 0.8m); gap to N, larger gap to E.
