Caherdesert held a twenty-five-metre earthen ring in open pasture until field works erased it around 1976. The loss is blunt, but the underground passage marked inside the old circle still contradicts that final erasure. A fort can disappear from sight yet keep its shape beneath the soil, waiting for someone to stop trusting the empty surface.

In pasture, at base of slope. Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m). Shown on later eds of OS 6-inch map as semicircular area with E half removed by N-S field fence.
