Marianne and the fairy fort: Clear fort, flat ground, visible chambers and a living record. The story only adds a woman, a dead husband and a child at a named place.

In rolling pasture broken by rock outcrop. Arc (C 30m) of originally circular enclosure survives N of E-W running field fence. Defined by scarp (H 2.3m) NW->N; earthen bank (H 0.9m) N->E.
