Triple-ramparted earthworks stood thirty-two yards wide in Lisin Ruadh, their banks rising four to seven feet before men levelled the fort in 1967. It guarded a northeast-facing slope where shadow moved quickly at dusk, and an underground passage may still breathe beneath the pasture. The land took back what it could, erasing the ridge marker while keeping the shape of the hole in memory.

In pasture, below top of ridge on NE-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1842, 1905 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps; external fosse hachured to E, S and W on 1936 OS 6-inch map. No visible surface trace of site; according to local information, levelled c. 1967. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 584) as triple-ramparted fort (diam. c. 32yd) in 'Lisin Ruadh' subdivision on F. Roche's land; banks 4 to 7ft H, with about half of middle rampart and one-sixth of outer rampart remaining. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO032-212---) in interior.
