What is recorded here

Barradoos holds a fifteen-metre earthen ring beside a mountain top, waiting for axes rather than scholars. The bank stands two metres wide around a hollow space, broken only at the northeast edge where a path may have entered or memory failed. Trees are felling around it, exposing the mound just before it disappears under new planting. The fairies may have built it, but humans certainly forgot it, which is the same thing wearing a different coat.

Situated close to mountain top in afforested area now felled and replanted. Not marked on 1841 edition os OS 6-inch map but shown as a mound (diam. c. 30m) surrounded by a ditch on 1910 edition. Possibly the remains of a prehistoric barrow. Monument inspected on the 21/09/2018 in an area of proposed clear-fell in forestry plantation south of the village of Clonaslee. Present remains consists of a circular shaped area (int. diam. 15m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2m) with an external fosse (D 1m) with possible entrance gap at NE where the enclosing bank is not present. Possible original entrance gap or later damage caused to the monument.
