Fairy fort in Ballynagarbragh, County Cork: one of two ringforts Power named in 1918, probably already partially destroyed. Its exact spot has vanished, leaving only the fact that people lived there, built there, and forgot or erased the mark. What remains is a hole in the land’s memory, not a hole in the story.

One of two ringforts (CO064-067---, CO064-114---) referred to by Power (1918, 186) in this townland. This is probably the one which was 'partially destroyed' in his time. Its location is not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
