Mortals may have forgotten the fort, but the fairies never left. They still dance in the hidden rings beneath the soil, waiting for a lonely person to wander close at midnight. If you hear music drifting from an empty field, do not follow it. The fairies invite nobody into their fort unless they intend to keep the visitor forever.

In tillage, on gentle SSE-facing slope. Depicted as hachured D-shaped enclosure (dims. c. 30m N-S) on 1842 OS 6-inch map, W side linear. Levelled; mature crop in field; no visible surface trace of site noted. Bivallate circular enclosure visible as cropmark of fosses in aerial photograph (CASAP); external fosse slightly linear on W side; possible entrance to N. Field systems (CO024-235---) visible as cropmarks in surrounding and adjoining fields. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
