Fairy fort in Ballymacmurragh: a circular earthen ring, 35 metres across, set atop a rise in pasture. People called it a fairy fort because the shape seemed hidden rather than built, yet the bank, fosse and breaks suggest human hands. Maybe it was a stronghold, a boundary marker or a place for rituals before memory faded. Under the grass, an off-centre passage may still descend into darkness, waiting for someone brave enough to listen.

In pasture, atop rise. Circular, slightly raised area (35.5m N-S; 35m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.05m); external fosse visible as differential vegetation. Break in bank to N (Wth 2.45m) and NW (Wth 1.2m). Interior saucer-shaped; possible Man-made underground passage (CO031-02002-) off-centre to E. Field boundary skirts enclosure to E.
