Denis Power documented the Ballyhahil ringfort on a north-facing mountain slope where furze and heather still choke the land. The structure measures sixteen metres across, bounded by earthen banks and a narrow fosse that human hands likely dug before forgetting the purpose. Dense gorse and bracken now fill the level interior, suggesting the fort abandoned people long before they abandoned it. What remains is a circular scar on the hillside, holding the shape of a life that no longer remembers its own name.

On mountain side covered by furze and heather, on N-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 16m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.55m; ext. H 1.55m), with intervening fosse (Wth 0.4m), and external earthen bank (int. H 1.4m; ext. H 0.25m). Level interior covered by dense overgrowth of gorse and bracken.
