In marshy pasture on top of a low rise with good views. Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 OS 6-inch maps. Listed as 'Enclosure' in the RMP (1996). A circular rath (diam. 44m SW-NE) defined by a low earthen bank (H 0.25-0.6m; Wth 5-6m) with traces of an outer fosse (Wth 2-3m) at E. One of two gaps (Wth 2m) at the NW may indicate a former entrance. The interior is level and featureless. An overgrown stone wall extends WSW-ENE across the N half of the monument. A fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballyfaudeen is a circular early-medieval defensive or domestic site, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries AD. Local folklore, common to many such sites in Ireland, associates it with the faére or supernatural beings, and it may have been avoided or revered by local communities due to its mystical connotations.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
