Fairy forts are human places misnamed after the old belief that fairies stole or hid them, but this is an earthen ringfort in Ballyallinan North, County Limerick, Ireland. It stands in reclaimed pasture on level low-lying terrain, a circular area about 41m across enclosed by an earthen bank and external fosse. The bank is degraded in places and masked by overgrowth along the north-west arc, while the fosse has been re-cut to form a deeper drain. Inside, the ground is uneven and marshy, dipping gently toward the centre like a place that keeps water and memory rather than pride.

In reclaimed pasture, on level low-lying terrain. Circular area (diam. 41m) enclosed by earthen bank with external fosse (D 0.7m; Wth 0.85m). Bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.95), heavily masked by overgrowth along NW arc, is much degraded elsewhere. Fosse, best preserved WNW->N, has recently been re-cut to form deeper drain N->WNW.
