Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballintober West

No fairy ever flew there, though the name still belongs to the round earthwork in Ballintober West. A thirty-metre circle, shallow inside and higher outside, keeps a narrow gap at the northeast while rain fills the ditch beyond. Cattle may have grazed the middle for generations, trusting the bank more than people do. The shape still fits a household, a herding pen or a small defended place, but the name preserves the part local memory refused to explain.
