Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ardcrony

Situated on a SW-facing slope in undulating terrain under pasture and tillage. Depicted as a circular enclosure on the 1st and latest ed. OS 6-inch map with a field boundary skirting the NW and NE quadrants. The location and depiction on the OS 6-inch maps suggests a possible ringfort classification. The site is now levelled with little visible except a slight rise in the field. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
