An Chluain Chlaíoch holds a fifteen-metre earthen ringfort where the Finn and Reelin rivers join. Its stone-heavy bank stands beside a narrow fosse, with a western causeway leading through a small gap. The fort sits on excellent floodplain land, suggesting people valued the water, soil, and view enough to shape the earth repeatedly.

Internal diam. 15m. A platform enclosed by an earthen bank which contains a lot of stone. This has been rebuilt on the SW or river side. A fosse 1.5m wide surrounds the site except on the river side and a causeway crosses this at the W to a 1.5m gap in the bank. It is situated on excellent land in the flood plain near where the rivers Finn and Reelin join. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
