On a NW-SE esker ridge, c. 75m SW of the Cross River and c. 150m W of the motte and bailey (RO048-113001-) and castle (RO048-113002-) of Ballycreggan. A pit (dims 1.3m x 0.7-0.8m; D 0.1m) containing charcoal-enriched soil was recovered in excavation (02E1054; 02E1158), with a hearth (dims 0.8m x 0.6m; D 0.25m) c. 30m to the NW. (Read 2004o)
