Six enclosures, including KE090-014002-, marked boggy ground beside the Small River in County Kerry. The landowner called them hagggarts and remembered building cocks of fionnan grass with his father there. A fire-break later cut through the western bank and erased one enclosure, proving these were living tools rather than dead ruins.

Six enclosures (see KE090-014001-, KE090-014003-, KE090-014004-, KE090-014005-, KE090-014006-) were identified on an aerial photograph (GSI, V. 89/90) taken in 1973. The area was inspected by C. Murphy on 7/05/2005 and found to be in rough grazing on boggy ground on both sides of the Small River. Mature forest of conifers are to the W, N and S. The landowner calls the enclosures 'hagggarts' and remembers making cocks of 'fionnán' (a type of long whitish moorgrass) with his father at these locations. He also recalls seeing neighbours using similar type enclosures for fionnán cocks on both sides of the river. A fire-break runs along the W bank of the river where this enclosure (KE090-014002-) is indicated on the aerial photograph. The enclosure is not visible and appears to have been removed when the fire break was made. According to the landowner, this is similar to the other enclosures that were identified in the area..
