What is recorded here

Rathnashannagh holds two adjacent enclosures beside the Aghglona River, one incomplete and facing east while the other has been quarried away. The land keeps both shapes, suggesting human hands repeated the same act of claiming and changing the riverbank.

Aerial photographs (GB89.AG.34 & 36) show cropmark of an incomplete sub-circular enclosure defined by a fosse and with an entrance facing east. One of two adjacent enclosures (CW008-063001). Bordering the Aghglona River, a tributary of the River Burren. Position of destroyed ringfort (CW008-041), quarried and backfilled - visible on GB89.AG.36.
