What is recorded here
In poorly drained pasture, at the base of a S-facing slope. The cropmark of a circular area (diam. c. 30m) defined by a fosse is visible in an aerial photograph (GSIAP, G 227-6). It is not visible at ground level. The area of the enclosure is conspicuous by having a sparse concentration of rushes in contrast to the surrounding dense concentration.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
