Enclosure in Oldtown (clanmallagh By.) is a rectilinear enclosure with rounded corners, measuring about eighty-one metres north-south and fifty-seven east-west, lying immediately north of a religious house in County Laois. It appears only as a faint cropmark in aerial imagery, suggesting the buried boundary of a monastic precinct rather than an open ruin. The southern edge is barely visible beyond the abbey building, as if the earth itself forgot half the wall. What remains is a shadow of enclosure, large enough to have held lives, quiet enough to disappear under growing crops.

A rectilinear-shaped enclosure (diam. c. 81m N-S; c. 57m E-W) with rounded corners is visible as a cropmark on Google Earth aerial imagery immediately N of a religious house (LA034-032001-) and may be the precinct boundary of the monastic site. The S side of this enclosure is barely visible as a curvilinear cropmark on aerial imagery to S of the abbey building.
