Unlocated enclosure within townland, mentioned in the OS field name books (O'Donovan et. al. 1840) as a fort known as fort Emil located in the NE part of the townland. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
