Enclosure in Longorchard

Situated on a slight rise of ground in undulating countryside. A poorly preserved site consisting of a circular area (diam. 20m N-S) enclosed by a low poorly preserved earthen bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.8m) which is destroyed at S by a modern drain and reduced to a scarp at E. No outer fosse or entrance feature visible (Stout 1984, 74). Depicted on the 1st edition OS 6-inch map as an irregular grove of trees associated with a nineteenth-century plantation.
