Enclosure in Leana

On the S side of a low overgrown knoll in undulating pasture. Hachured on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map. This small, poorly preserved, small, irregular enclosure (int. dims. 12.5m E-W; 11.8m N-S) is defined W-N-S by wall collapse (Wth 2.5-3m; H 0.5m), a spread of large stones, most visible NNW-ENE, and also at S. A later drystone wall overlies the perimeter N-E. From S-W the enclosure is defined by a stone-strewn scarp (Wth 1m; H 0.8-1.2m). Against the enclosure wall collapse at NE are two small drystone structures; one (int. dims. 1.7m N-S; 1.35m E-W) at the N and the other (int. dims. 2.1m E-W; 1.8m N-S) at the S with its W side formed by bedrock.
