Enclosure in Kilcurry

Kilcurry is an enclosure where a fort once stood beneath the later church, remembered as Beul teine, the place of Druidical fires. No wall or ditch remains visible, yet the name preserves a sudden image: flames rising beside a fortified seat while people watched or feared. The church later occupied the same ground, translating old fire into Christian worship without erasing the shape of the earlier place.
