Enclosure in Kilcornan (dunkellin By.)

In woodland within Kilcornan Demesne. Described by Redington (1912, 174) as 'the remains of what must have been a strong stone caher’. It was difficult to trace as the land around had been planted. Its walls 'were 6ft. [1.8m] thick, built of medium sized stones, not packed with rubble, and are still in one place 4ft. [1.2m] high. The 'garth' measured 'roughly 20 yards [c. 6m] by 18 [5.4m].'
