Enclosure in Gortlahard (glanarought By., Cappagh Ed)

In rough pasture, on a S-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. An irregularly shaped area (c. 90m N-S; c. 60m E-W) defined by a collapsed wall (T c. 0.5m) which protrudes c. 0.4m above the peat. The wall disappears intermittently beneath the peat cover. The enclosure is bisected by an E-W field boundary. A fulacht fia (KE093-091002) is c. 80m to the SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
