Enclosure in Glascurram

In grassland 150m E of a public road and 20m N of the townland boundary with Kilcolman. Depicted on the 1840 OS 6-inch map as a raised sub-circular shaped area defined by a scarp with the ruins of a rectangular building immediately to S. Monument depicted on the 1897 OS 25-inch map as a raised circular-shaped area (approx. int. diam. 47m; approx. ext. diam. 53m) defined by a scarp. No surface remains visible of levelled monument. The N half of this partially levelled monument is clearly visible on Digital Globe orthphotos taken 2011-13. On Google Earth orthoimage taken 2019 traces of the levelled N half of the monument are visible. This image shows possible field clearance material in the centre of the site and a field boundary running E-W through the centre and extending W for a distance of c. 20m.
