Enclosure

What is recorded here

Indicated on the 1924 OS 6-inch map as a rectangular area (c. 40m SW-NE; c. 25m SE-NW) enclosed to N and to S by internal and external banks with an intervening fosse, immediately SE of a field boundary. The field boundary has since been levelled. Survives as a roughly rectangular (30m NE-SW; 23m SE-NW) area enclosed by a bank (int. H 0.5m; Wth. 1.1m; int. H 0.8m) a fosse (Wth. 3.6m) and an external bank (int. H 0.85m; Wth. 1.7m; ext. H 0.1m). Only the portions of the banks and fosse from NW to SE and from S to W are visible, under heavy vegetation, with a denuded portion of the external bank visible from SE to S.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
