The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Circular area (int. diam. 36m) enclosed by stone wall (H c. 1.5m; Wth 1.3m). Gaps at ESE and WNW. Small shelter on inner face of wall at SSE by gap. Wall is similar to adjacent field boundaries.
A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.
