Enclosure in Coolnagoppoge (glanarought By., Banawn Ed)

In rough hill pasture, on a N-facing slope, in the valley of the Glashanaglaragh stream. An oval area (11m E-W; 7m N-S) defined by a partially collapsed, roughly constructed drystone wall (T 0.5m; H 0.4m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog. The wall along the SE-SW arc is on top of a scarp (H 0.9m). The N portion of the interior is raised (H 0.6m) to compensate for the hillslope. There is another enclosure (KE103-030008-) 1m to the W and a hut site (KE103-030006-) c. 12m to the NNE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
