Field system in Coolnagoppoge (glanarought By., Banawn Ed)

In rough hill pasture, on a NW-facing slope, in the valley of the Sheen River. The remains of collapsed stone walls (T 0.6m; H 0.4m) protrude at intervals above the surface of the bog and indicate the remnants of a field system covering an area c. 270m NW-SE x c. 230 NE-SW. The walls are mainly curvilinear and suggest fields of many shapes and sizes. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
