What is recorded here
Situated W of a univallate rath (KE005-090----), this enclosure is marked on the 1841-42 OS map and is sub-D-shaped. On the later map of 1914, though still marked, its shape has altered. Today this site has been completely ploughed out and a faint trace of an enclosing bank running from E to S can still be seen, though now barely distinguishable.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 1027. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
