What is recorded here

On a high prominent location within a multiperiod field system (CL005-115001-), with good views from NE to E but with higher peat-covered ground to the W. Hachured on the 1842 and 1916 eds of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Earthwork’ in the RMP (1996). A roughly circular cashel (18m N-S; 16m E-W) defined by a grassed-over stone bank (Wth 1.2-2.5m; max. int. H 0.5m; max. ext. H 0.8m at E). There is an earthen ledge (Wth 1m; H 0.6m) on the outside of the bank at E. A later wall runs on top of the bank from SW to N. Another cashel (CL005-075----) lies c. 100m SSE.
