What is recorded here

On a gradual W-facing slope just of the crest of a hill in rolling pasture. Field boundaries to N have been removed and a trackway now runs from the former Fortwilliam House, now ruinous, to the corner of field boundaries to SE of enclosure. Ringfort (TS077-059----) visible on hill 360m to E. No visible trace of enclosure at ground level. The monument is not marked on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map and is marked as a D-shaped enclosure on the 2nd (1906) ed. (dims. c. 53m N-S; c. 45m E-W). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
