What is recorded here

Situated on a natural rise in rolling terrain sloping down to SE. The land is wet and marshy and a stream runs downslope c. 100m NE of the site. Not indicated on the 1st ed. (1840) OS 6-inch map but indicated as a circular, hachured enclosure on the 1901-5 ed. According to Stout (1984, 37) the site is described locally as a 'ringfort' which was levelled in 1982. Not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary.
