What is recorded here

Enclosure in Ballymacaward hides beneath pasture and brush, its ring forgotten by people but never erased from the land. The small river beside it has flowed for centuries, carrying rain and time past the buried stone. Whatever lived there is gone, yet the shape remains, waiting for someone to walk the slope and remember that places keep their own records.

A single-ringed 'Fort' is marked on the OS 6-inch maps. It now consists of a very overgrown raised area. It is not clear if any other features survive. It is situated on good pasture sloping gently with a small river to the E. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
