What is recorded here

Ballybar Upper in County Carlow, Ireland: a circular enclosure, possibly a ringfort with hut site, visible in aerial photographs but absent at ground level. The hidden line may have marked a home, a boundary or a forgotten place of residence.
The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Aerial photographs (CUCAP AYL 27, 28) show circular area defined by cropmark of fosse (est max. diam. c. 45m). Close to centre a much smaller circular feature, similarly defined, is also visible. No visible features at ground level. Possibly a ringfort, with hut site.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
