Situated on a slight SE-facing slope. This is a square area (dims c. 40m NW-SE; c. 40m NE-SW) in mixed woodland defined by earthen banks (Wth 4.5-7m; int. H 1.2-1.6; ext. H 1.8-2m) with flat- bottomed external moats (Wth of top 9-12m; Wth of base 4.5-8m; ext. D 0.6-1m). (Barry 1977, 228, WX 115)
